Hi folks! Happy new year, happy new decade and all that jazz. It’s been about 2 months since my last blog post and honestly, the break was much needed. The year did not start off slow for me at all.
I shot a role in an upcoming Netflix movie starting Jason Momoa and Marissa Tomei, signed with a new manager for my acting career, attended New York Fashion Week for the first time, went to Florida for a quick trip with a friend and had to move( not planned) all in the span of 2 months. Also, we are currently dealing with the Coronavirus pandemic, which has everyone, including myself a little nervous, but the show must go on. To a certain extent.
As you can see a lot has been going on, but for this specific blog post, I’m going to focus on the NYFW part, and the two backstage events I attended with Self-Portrait and Ulla Johnson courtesy of Bumble & Bumble who styled the model’s hair. It’s a bit late, for I had all this content and really wanted to make use of it, and also editing takes time. Lots of it!
NYFW has been something I’ve always dreamed of attending and thanks to a friend, that dream became a reality. I didn’t get to fully experience all the magic of NYFW, but the parts that I did get to experience were not only fun but insightful as well. For one, Fashion Week is a full-on workout. I only participated in 2 days of events, and I was exhausted at the end of both of those days. Also, as much as I enjoy being in front of the camera, I do enjoy being behind the lens too. My sister who usually takes all my content wasn’t able to attend the events with me, so I had to be my own camera lady, hence not being in any of the images or in the video.
It was really fun being able to capture all the behind the scenes moments, with models and creative team members working together to put on a final product. Although I didn’t get to see the runway shows, I feel like the behind the scenes was a show in itself. My hope in capturing all of these images and videos is that it will give you a bit of an understanding as to how much work is put into a show and how it all comes to fruition.
Let me know if you like this and I will try to create more bts content! Feel free to drop a line HERE!
