Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season and is ready to get some goals achieved in 2019.
They say “summer bodies are made in the winter”, and one of the hardest things for me to do in the winter is to stay in shape. Although I have a gym membership at Planet Fitness which I regularly attend when it’s warm out, I find it very hard to do so when it’s cold. Having to bundle up to leave the house, then get to the gym and take everything off to exercise, sweating from the workout and having to bundle up again to go back home. It’s just A LOT!! This is why I have opted to stay in shape this winter by working out from home.
The best way to stay motived to workout at home is TO DRESS THE PART. That goes for anything in life really. Even if you’re not leaving your home, you should look the part. Sometimes looking the part motivates you to actually leave your house. I got this new High-Rise Printed Compression Leggings and Seamless Light Support Sports Bra from Old Navy. Cute pattern, chic looking and super comfortable to move in. The high rise on the leggings stays in place no matter what, and the Go-Dry moisture-wicking technology keeps you comfortable and dry during your workout.
You can mix and match these workouts to your liking. There are also lots of Youtube workout routines available online which makes it’s really easy to find different routines that may work for you and wht you’re looking to accomplish.
How do you usually stay in shape in the winter? Do you always make it to the gym or do you workout from home?

This week I’m doing a foundation review on Maybelline’s Fit Me foundation. I’ve been trying to incorporate more video content into my blog, so you’ll be seeing a lot more video reviews like this in the coming year. Check out the video review below and let me know what you think.
This will also be my last blog post of the year. I can’t believe I started this blog almost a year ago. Thank you for being on this journey with me. I’ve learned so much on the way and can’t wait to come back in the new year with more kick-ass content. Happy Holidays!
Velvet is in this holiday season. If you didn’t know this, well now you do! I’ve always been a fan of velvet. There’s something very fancy about the fabric that instantly makes me feel a little bougie, which is why I got this Relaxed Velvet Tee in Tobacco Leaf (cool color name) from Old Navy to spice up the season.
I’m in love with this relaxed tee. You can pair it with almost anything and it completely transforms your outfit! In this first look, I wore the tee with a pair of high waisted denim jeans, a teddy jacket, and black booties. A simple yet very cute look for a date night, or an evening holiday party. I also added a few accessories including a Glitter Wristlet (also from Old Navy), a belt and a necklace to give it a bit more personality.
For the second look, I paired the tee with a striped skirt and ankle boots. I kept the accessories to a minimum on this outfit. Only adding hoop earrings, just because the skirt and booties added so much more detail to the outfit and anything extra would be too much in my opinion. This look can easily work for any daytime festivities. I didn’t wear stockings on the day I shot this, because it wasn’t that cold, but if you need to definitely go for it. Being cold ain’t cute.
Are you into velvet this season or is it not your thing? Let me know in the comments!
It seems like I’ve been stocking up on bags a lot lately. I mean, you do need a different bag for different occasions, right? That’s why I’m so thrilled to add this Wish Supply Co. Crossbody bag to my collection.
Wish Supply Co. is a Cincinnati based leather goods company that make gorgeous products with a meaningful purpose. Their motto is “Good Things are Happening”. They believe, “that positive thinking leads to a radiant life, and combining that with giving back can make a ripple effect in the world. Energy attracts energy, we are spreading the good stuff!” Those words rang so true to me because that’s the exact kind of mentality and lifestyle I’m trying to live by.
Their products include high-quality leather and are very clean and polished in appearance which makes it a great addition to any outfit. I decided to get the Camel Square Crossbody Adjustable bag with Detachable Strap in Camel. I love that I have the option to wear it over my shoulder or use it as a clutch by unhinging the shoulder strap. It also comes with eight credit card slots in the interior and my favorite, a gold debossed positive affirmation on the back that reads “GOOD THINGS ARE HAPPENING”.
I also got this Navy Tassel Keychain. It’s a good vibes addition that pretty much goes with anything, and also has a daily reminder that Good Things Are Coming! If you know me, you know that I am always about the good vibes!
Cozy sweaters seem to be a trend this season, and I’m here for it. Personally, they’ve been a go-to for me in the winters. Anything that keeps me warm and cozy will always be something I gravitate towards. Corduroy is another trend that’s blowing up that I’m really loving. The only other corduroy item I possess is my vintage Ralph Lauren pink corduroy jacket. So when I found this H&M colorful sweater and Joie corduroy jeans on the same day at the Curated by Goodwill in the Upper West Side, it was a no-brainer! I had to get them. What is this Curated by Goodwill you ask? Don’t worry, I got you covered.
Curated by Goodwill is a regular Goodwill store with slightly higher end quality clothing and prices than your normal Goodwill. The concept behind Curated by Goodwill came from a Goodwill-sponsored contest for the Fashion Institute of Technology, where students were tasked with coming up with an inventive new concept for their chain. The students with the winning concept were then given $10,000 as prize money, and Goodwill brought their concept to life. What I love about this new store is that when you walk in, the entire store is open and spacious so you can pinpoint where you want to go at first glance. All the clothing are color coded, so if you’re looking for a specific color, it’s super easy to find. I once found a barely worn jacket from Soia and Kyo which normally cost about $500 for $50 bucks, but it was a size too small. I know, just my luck.
I Hope you stop by and check it out if you’re ever in the UWS. If you do let me know and I hope you love this outfit as much as I do! Have a lovely Thanksgiving day, wherever you might be!
Curated by Goodwill is located at 217 W 79th St, New York, NY 10024 / Open every day from 10 am to 8 pm
