How to Stay in Shape During the Winter

Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season and is ready to get some goals achieved in 2019.

They say “summer bodies are made in the winter”, and one of the hardest things for me to do in the winter is to stay in shape. Although I have a gym membership at Planet Fitness which I regularly attend when it’s warm out, I find it very hard to do so when it’s cold. Having to bundle up to leave the house, then get to the gym and take everything off to exercise, sweating from the workout and having to bundle up again to go back home. It’s just A LOT!! This is why I have opted to stay in shape this winter by working out from home.

The best way to stay motived to workout at home is TO DRESS THE PART. That goes for anything in life really. Even if you’re not leaving your home, you should look the part. Sometimes looking the part motivates you to actually leave your house. I got this new High-Rise Printed Compression Leggings and Seamless Light Support Sports Bra from Old Navy. Cute pattern, chic looking and super comfortable to move in. The high rise on the leggings stays in place no matter what, and the Go-Dry moisture-wicking technology keeps you comfortable and dry during your workout.

Some of my favorite home workouts include:

Lunges, Air Squats, Push Ups, Sit Ups, Planks, Bicycle Crunches, Bridges, Plank Leg Raises, Donkey Kick, Ab Roller Workouts

You can mix and match these workouts to your liking. There are also lots of Youtube workout routines available online which makes it’s really easy to find different routines that may work for you and wht you’re looking to accomplish.

How do you usually stay in shape in the winter? Do you always make it to the gym or do you workout from home?
