Last month I went to Palm Springs, California for the first time with Clark (my bae) and family. The weather was not as warm as I hopped it would be but coming from New York it was a major upgrade. Palm Springs definitely has a retro vibe that I really like and it’s also a very relaxing place.
Fun things we did:
Air Museum
The Air Museum is located right next to the airport and houses a variety of different planes from different wars, which are interesting to see in person. Many of the volunteers that work there are veterans who sometimes share their own personal war or flying stories with you, making the experience even better.
Palm Springs Ariel Tramway
This one was really fun. Some of us were afraid of heights, but we did it anyways. The Ariel Tramway which is the world’s largest rotating car tram, travels along the cliffs of Chino Canyon. The 10 minute photographic ride shoots you up 8,516 feet to Mt. San Jacinto State Park. Once you get to the top you can enjoy anything from hiking to eating from their two restaurants. The temperature absolutely drops once you’re up there, so make sure to dress warmly.
Melrose Trading Post Flea Market in LA
So this wasn’t in Palm Springs but since we were catching our flights home from LAX, we decided to head into LA early and check out this flea market. If you don’t know by now, I love love thrifting. The Melrose Trading Post Flea Market which is celebrating its 20th year at Fairfax High School, has got to be the biggest flea market I’ve ever seen in my life. It’s a great place to find antique furniture, vintage clothing or enjoy live music and great food. We weren’t able to stay long and I didn’t buy anything (insert sad face here), but I would definitely put this on the top of my to-do list whenever I go back to LA.
